Advanced scientific processes are actively introduced at the enterprise especially concerning to ore mine and its processing. Combined method of deposit development when ore is excavated simultaneously by open and closed method in the same vertical plane was developed and introduced at Gaiskiy GOK for the first time in mining industry. In 2001 the combine have commenced the introduction of cyclical-and-continuous method for ore mining which is the only method within Russia for today. This is “speed flow sheet”: working face - loader-trammer – conveyer – skip hoisting. Cyclical-and-continuous method allows reducing ore transportation cost by 14%.
Blast hole directed drilling was applied at open-cut ore mine of OAO “Gaiskiy GOK” for the first time within Russia.
In 2004 the combine have started to use separation equipment which is able to separate the ore from waste material. In accordance with specialists assessments this decision will result in significant reduction of ore transportation costs and its processing technology improvement from the quality point of view.
