The ore has been mined by open pit method since 1962. Nowadays ore mining capacity by this method is reduced. The only one of three pits at Gai deposit, i.e. pyrite mine remained. In 1999 a pit for processing of ore from “Letnee” deposit was commissioned. Over 210 mln m3 of overburden was delivered and over 100 mln tons of ore was mined in the last years. On May,8 2004 extraction from deposit “Osennee” (Dombarovskaya mine group) was commenced.
